La francaiseee!!

Since I started learning french, I have gotten into the habit of enjoying french TV, french comics, websites and ofcourse french movies. Its so cool that learning a new language opens up a whole
new world of art and literature for you, that you previously could'nt understand.

On my first visit to the alliance francaise library, I discovered a genre of comics that I had only heard of. Lolo et Sucette is a series of funny and sex-y 'Bandes dessinées' that showcase
the lives of two saucy hookers and the fun they have 'on the job' :) It was refreshing to read something that talks about sex, hookers and streetlife, in a light-wicked-wacky way 'nd without any sense of pointless taboo, plus the jokes and illustrations are really funny. Plus I learnt so many new words. Guess what "preservatif" means. hehe.

I am gonna look for other volumes of the series.

Next task in line is to look for some interesting "Bande-animes".

More on this in d next post

2) HAHA, I LOVE DIS JOKE :

A little boy got on the bus, sat next to a man reading a book, and noticed he had his collar on backwards.

The little boy asked why he wore his collar backwards.

The man, who was a priest, said 'I am a Father.'

The little boy replied 'My Dad doesn't wear his collar like that.'

The priest looked up from his book and answered 'I am the Father of many.'

The boy said 'My Dad has 4 boys, 4 girls and two grandchildren and he doesn't wear his collar that way'

The priest, getting impatient, said 'I am the Father of hundreds' and went back to reading his book.

The little boy sat quietly thinking for a while, then leaned over and said, 'Maybe you should use a condom and wear your pants backwards instead of your collar.'

3) lOOOOOOOOLZZZ...SARDARNI JOKE

A Sardarni gets home early from shopping and hears strange noises coming from the bedroom.
She rushes upstairs to find her husband naked on the bed, sweating and panting.
'What's up?' she asks.
'I'm having a heart attack,' cries the husband..
The sardarini rushes downstairs to grab the phone, but just as she's dailing her four-year-old son comes up and says, 'Mommy! Mommy!
Aunt Amrit Kaur is hiding in your Wardrobe, and she's got no clothes on ! '
The sardarini slams the phone down and storms upstairs into the bedroom, right past her husband, and rips open the Wardrobe door.
Sure enough, there is her sister, totally naked and cowering on the Wardrobe floor.
'You rotten 'B****', she screams, 'My husband's having a heart attack, and you're running around naked scaring the kids!!'

Photoshop Illustration - wine bottle :)

Hey, I wanted to try my hand at drawing stuff in photoshop, with light, shadow, textures...
and a picture of a wine bottle caught my eye. Heres the original photo (below).. Actually my illustration (above) requires more work, but a teeny-weeny project has come up, so de bottle has to rest aside for a while.

hehe, another slip

I been jobless and yet so damn busy man. Update is that I finally found a course to upgrade my photoshop skills. Its a course in retouching, my latest interest. After all, a good photoshopper HAS
to be good retoucher. MMwah, i love dis software. Anyways.
2nd update is that I am gonna learn driving..........yippee. Always thought I'll enjoy driving, will find
out soon. Was at the RTO today, for the learner license test. Driving classes, will start day after 2morrow. Yippee. Taking a break from a fulltime job, has done me a world of good man. The 1 year of zombie-like existence before that had cut me off from so many things that really matter in life.
I been checking out NGOs, rejoined the voice-culture class, discovered a beautiful specialization called retouching, learnt Reiki, been to Vipassana meditation course at Gorai, learnt to cook new things, watched cool movies, freelanced for friends and last but not the least started blogging again.

MySpace shutdown was not a bad thing for me after all ;)

Brunette Turns Blonde ( Changing hair colour in Photoshop )

CLICK ON THE IMAGE TO VIEW LARGER VERSION

Heya ppl.
U knw after playin around Adriana Lima's close-up shot, the next challenge I chose was to
turn a brunette into a blonde. Turning light hair dark, is relatively easier, but brunette to
lighter colour seemed like an interesting task. First thing I did was look for a good tutorial
on this topic, but I was surprised to see that most tuts were recommending a short-cut
method, that dint really give realistic results. I mean they selected all the hair at once like
it was a wig, as a result of which the hair in front, on the sides, hair in shadows, in highlights...all got the same settings, same image adjustments. What I've done is that have selected hair in 5-6 parts, and applied slightly different settings as per their requirement. God, it took me a loooooong time to get this done, and I stopped only coz I got tired of it! But I am happy with the result, though feel that it could still have been better.
By the way, i've taken this image from sxc.hu

Today I made Aloo Chaat!

This time I wanted to experiment with a quickie. After surfing through Sanjeev kapoor's website, for a few mins, I settled for Aloo Chaat. A dish quite famous, but one that I had never tried. Its not really popular on Mumbai streets, nowhere close to bhelpuri anyways. But, the recipe seemed quite nutritious, as it is mostly raw food. The original recipe you can find if you click here. I made it slightly different. And it wasssss yummy. My sis loved it.

Ingredients
Potatoes, cubed
Lots of lemon juice
Little bit ginger, cut into thin strips
Oil to deep fry
Onion cut into thin strips
Chaat Masala, Garam Masala powder, Cumin(jeera) powder, Dhania powder
Green chillies chopped
Fresh coriander leaves chopped
Fried peanuts, and Masala cashews.
Salt to taste.

Procedure: Mix all the ingredients except potatoes, peanuts and cashews in a bowl. I did it with my hands, rather than using a spoon. Well, it seemed more effective that way. Now fry the chopped potatoes, and once done, add them to the mixture. Garnish with the peanuts and masala cashews, and enjoy the yummy treat.
